This innovative offering comes as a result of PSA’s acquisition of eBay’s card vault, which was finalized in May after the deal was initiated back in April.
Gone are the days of navigating through multiple channels to get your trading cards graded and listed for sale. The PSA Vault offers a one-stop-shop for collectors, allowing them to seamlessly submit their cards for grading and then choose their desired next move. Whether it’s listing the cards on eBay, holding them securely in the PSA Vault, or having them returned to add to their personal collections, the options are all conveniently at their fingertips.
Ryan Hoge, the President of PSA, emphasized that this new platform aims to reduce the number of hands the cards pass through and significantly cut down on shipping times. With PSA taking charge of shipping directly from the vault to the buyer, collectors can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their prized possessions are in safe hands throughout the transaction process.
A standout feature of the PSA Vault is its integration with eBay, the ideal platform for selling trading cards, especially those valued at under $500. With just a simple click, graded cards can be swiftly listed on eBay for potential buyers to scout. Once a sale is made, the funds are seamlessly deposited into the seller’s checking account within days, eliminating the hassle of manual shipping.
The digital era has also left its mark on trading card collecting, with PSA’s user-friendly app allowing collectors to manage their digital collection with ease. This digital interface proves to be a game-changer for frequent traders, providing a seamless experience where card ownership can be transferred digitally without the need for physical shipment if the card is already safely tucked away in the vault.
While the PSA Vault doesn’t impose holding fees on cards stored within, a nominal $5 withdrawal fee is applicable if a card is removed before the 90-day mark. Physical vaults for PSA and eBay are situated in Delaware, ensuring secure storage for the valuable trading cards under their watchful eye.
Prior to joining forces with eBay, the PSA Vault also offered an avenue to list cards on Goldin Auctions. However, eBay’s massive active buyer base, particularly for lower-priced cards, has proven to be the preferred platform for sellers. Ryan Hoge pointed out, “Cards valued under $500 make up the majority of our graded cards, and eBay presents the optimal platform to sell these cards effectively.”
